Born on 20th August 1974 in Ireland; Timothy James Murphy won the 2008 John Smith's Grand National at Aintree on Comply or Die. His 1,000th winner was recorded at Taunton on 21st January 2010.
Ruby Walsh
Born on 14th May 1979 in County Kildare, Ireland; Ruby is the reigning Irish National Hunt champion jockey. Ruby is the eldest son of former champion amateur jockey Ted Walsh.
Barry Geraghty
Barry is the Horse Racing Ireland National Hunt Ambassador for 2010 and 2011 Go Racing. He rode his first winner in January 1997. Three years later he became the Irish Champion jump jockey for the first time. Barry was born on the 16th September 1979.
AP McCoy
Anthony Peter McCoy OBE (born 4 May 1974), also known as A. P. McCoy or Tony McCoy, is a Northern Irish horse racing jockey.
He recorded his first win at age 17 in 1992, by 2009 he had ridden over 3,000 winners and been named British jump racing Champion Jockey every year since 1995/6. His winners included the prestigious Cheltenham Gold Cup, Champion Hurdle, Queen Mother Champion Chase, King George VI Chase and the 2010 Grand National, riding Don't Push It on his 15th attempt. He has ridden over 13,000 races.
Niall Madden
Niall "Slippers" Madden (born 11th November 1985) is an Irish jockey who rode the racehorse Numbersixvalverde to win the 2006 Grand National steeplechase at Aintree Racecourse.
Madden's nickname is "Slippers", as a comparison with his father Niall Madden, also a jockey, whose nickname was "Boots". He rides for Noel Meade and won the 2006 Christmas Hurdle for Meade on Jazz Messenger.
Paul Carberry
Paul Carberry is an Irish National Hunt jockey. He was born on 9 February 1974. He hails from a racing family. He is the son of jockey Tommy Carberry, who was a famous National Hunt jockey in the 1960s and 1970s.[3] His uncle is Arthur Moore, one of Ireland's leading National Hunt trainers. His younger siblings, Phillip and Nina, are also successful Irish riders.[3]
